Yes, but the "slop" should not allow more than about .3 gph, I find fuel flow when set to 7.5 gph will go as low as 7.1 to 8.1 gph.
I have had same problem. Look for loose or separated connection. I use electric contact cleaner on the spades, then "pinch" them a bit and reconnect, cover with shrink tubing.

Found out that for the last 4 years, #1 and #4 EGT are reversed! The wiring harness was mislabeled! Found loose connection on #1 EGT probe.
