Working on my ifr training and have an instrument question.
Two 4500's and a 430W.
the 430w is the certified ifr unit so I have to update the nav info on a monthly cycle for those months I'm...
FYI, suddenly had one EGT clearly reading very high right from right after startup (only 72 hours since new).
Spoke with tech support and, among other suggestions, they mentioned that the fast-on...
Aaah.
Makes sense.
Thanks
Rob,
I updated my afs 4500's to mv15 and the navworx to 3.12.5
Traffic works fine as before however call signs still not showing up.
Is there an additional setting I need to do?
Is there some...
Any update on getting call signs displayed with traffic?
Thanks,
Tom h
Still hoping for call signs on traffic.

I'm adding the afs GPS antenna as a backup to my two 4500's,
GPS from 430w is my primary.
1. Does it matter which 4500 I connect it too as long as settings list that port as "afs GPS"?
2. Is...
I patiently waited before posting again
Any update on time frame?
That is great.

I have dual AFS 4500's and Navworx. My traffic displays and weather are both working well and I love it.
A friend of mine back from Oshkosh mentioned that several people with this setup were able...

When I load new map files onto my SD cards, will the 4500s automatically identify most recent or do the old map files need to be deleted?
Thanks,
Tom Hanaway
yeah, I remembered that right after I posted.
Thanks
Tom
Can I put both maps, sound files and latest software on one sd card (4500s).
Refreshing all at one time or does each category need to be loaded separately.
Thanks,

Ditto :^) --smiley face added to get up to ten characters required for post......
Does the 4500 series have the capability of displaying either a PAL or NTSC video input from the FLIR EVSx airborn thermal imaging unit?

I'm toying...
I'm installing a AF-4500EE & AF-4500EF and a slave 3400. All are linked by ARINC. Dual AHRS and independent power supplies.
Does each unit require a separate pitot-static line input in case...
Trevor,
I just want to confirm that pin 14 activates by grounding, correct?
It isn't actually putting out a voltage.
Thanks,
Tom Hanaway
Trevor,
Thanks for the reply.
I understand that weather may still be up in the air but Navworx does currently supply traffic. Can you confirm that the AFS units dsplay traffic from Navworx ads-b...
Any updates on this?
1. Assuming a serial input from the Navworx unit to the efis is used, what setting should be used on the EFIS setup page? Addition of this wiring to the AFS schematic pages...
I planned to use that as a ground to case for wire shields.

OK,
Didn't see this on any of the schematics. So Pin 7 of AFS/TT autopilot head is a serial TX and can go to any of the free serial RX connections on the EF or EE efis unit?
Thanks,
Tom Hanaway
ok.
So any audio output from the EF is coming out from pin 18 of the DB25.
then to disable audio, i can just put the on/off switch in between that output and the pse audio panel?
Tom H.
Best way to mount???
thanks,
