    WxWorx and XM weather

I have 2 4500's connected through a hub to each other and to WxWorx. Occasionally all of my engine monitoring will not display. I have tried to reboot, with no help. However, when I turn off the weather, the engine info comes back on. At the suggestion of AFS I have repplaced the hub but after a while it happens again. Anyone else have something similar happen?

There is an issue with the WxWorx box. Check with WxWorx to see if you have the latest software.

Thanks Shawn. I've contacted WxWorx. They say that it's not their problem. There is an update I've downloaded and unzipped. Without sounding to dumb, how do I update the WxWorx software through my AFS screens? There is no port on the box. WxWorx says I have to do it through your hardware. I've looked at the "admin" page but don't see anywhere to download to the box. Help.

I don't believe we have ever updated a module here. Normally WxWorx fixes them. We have a tool to change some of the base settings (IP address). I'll dig into it a bit more.

I just had the same thing happen to me the other day. Unplugging the WxWorx box from the ethernet switch got the network connection to work again. I'm thinking the WxWorx box overheats and starts messing with the switch. Where is your box located? Mine is on the forward side of the subpanel (RV-10). It's pretty toasty in there on a hot day.
My weather box is only a couple of months old.

Mine is two AF-5800T, Linksys SD 205. Works fine on the ground, and the first few minutes of the flight.

I have 2 4500's and a slave 3400. I have my box located low on the inside of the firewall. It has worked just fine for the first 3 years. The fix AFS gave me was an update for the 4500 software. I'll see if that fixes it.
