    timer button vs. map page

Using a single screen 4500 I have encountered an issue I need some guidance with. It is very helpful when doing holds and approaches to have the screen split between the EFFIS and the map page. Unfortunately when this happens the "timer" button becomes the map button. Is there a way to get around this problem. Thanks

Press the EFIS button and you will get a Timer Button.

Yes that works for me but I can understand now why you moved to more buttons on the 5500 series. Everything is fine for VFR flights but as soon as you get busy with IFR conditions anything that reduces workload is important. Will a 5500 slide into a 4500 opening? If yes are the D-sub cable connections all the same?
    Thanks

The wiring is the same, the panel cutout is different. The AF-5500 is about 3/8" wider and not as tall.
