The Flight Data Systems GD-40 CO2 detector is reported to work with the AFS EFIS system. Is there any information on how it is wired into the harness?

Mark,
The Flight Data Systems GD-40 is a CO detector, not a CO2 detector. CO is poisonous, C02 is not. Looks like a good value.
The GD-40 uses a serial interface. From the Flight Data Systems web site (at http://www.fdatasystems.com/Downloads/Downloads.html):
"RX (Serial Receive) Connect to EFIS serial port “Transmit”.
TX (Serial Transmit) Connect to EFIS serial port “Receive”.
(Use a two conductor shielded wire for the data connection. Connect one end of the shield to ground) "
Probably wired to any available serial port, similar to the CO Guardian. From page 92 of the version 2.6 5000 series manual:
"The CO Guardian should be wired to any open serial port and then the serial port Admin setting set to CO Guardian."
Regards,
Roy
I've not come across these people before and am interested in the CO detector. Any more feedback on this?
