AF-Pilot Status

If I connect pin 7 from the AF-Pilot (Auxiliary Output) to one of the RS-232 inputs on the PFD EFIS and configure the port as AF-PILOT will I get status information as well as audible "engage" and "disengage" alerts, without connecting an RS-232 GPS output feed into pin 17 of the AP?

I know this is an odd request but my panel currently has a selector switch that allows me to directly select the GPS source for the AP...I really don't want to rewire it.

We have not tested it, we think it should work.

It does work...shows the AP status and triggers the audible alerts. The only thing it appears you lose without the GPS output to the AP is the ability to engage and disengage the AP from the EFIS.
