    Figuring out my 3500/3400 wiring

I think I have really messed up. I sent my 3400 in a few month's ago for a new screen. When it was returned, my autopilot (TrueFlight) would not follow the EFIS heading bug of the altitude bug.

I started changing serial port assignments in the configuration screens and am now probably ruined. Going upside down under the panel and pulling all the wiring would be terrible. I did not build the aircraft.

Starting at step 1, is there a way I can determine what device is connected to each port - probably by choosing one and flying.

    I have a Garmin 480 with traffic / an SL30 / a remote AIRINC.

    My software is 7.4

Wow - someplace to start! Thanks Shawn! (sorry for the lousy phone connection).

How do I back that up to you in the future if I get it working better?

Backup each EFIS (CHECK -> MAINT -> ADMIN -> Hold CALIBRATION -> Admin Settings -> Transfer Files -> All Files BACKUP ) onto a separate SD card or at separate times then zip all AFC, AFD files. We can keep them in your screens records.

Scott Hickman visited my ship at Oshkosh and together with his Dad, got me all squared away. Everything is how it should be and working well again.

On the way home I discovered that the EFIS heading mode would allow the airplane to "wonder" a bit. The Truetrak heading mode would fly steady. Is there a gain adjustment I can make/change?
Also, ATC is complaining I'm 300 feet low. I'm due for a pitot/static check anyway. How can I direct my avionics people to adjust the altimeter in the 4500? I know the encoder has a potentiometer on it, so I hope they can tweek the encoder that way. Suggestions?

    Glad it got worked out.

    EFIS -> AP/FD -> SETTINGS -> LATERAL -> ROLLGAIN
The roll gain setting controls how fast the aircraft will respond to errors in track or heading. With
too low of a setting the aircraft will hunt slowly and appear slow to respond in roll. With too high of a
setting the aircraft will hunt rapidly, and appear jittery.

For the altitude setting you will want to ensure the EFIS is warmed up normally 15min.
CHECK -> MAINT -> ADMIN -> Hold CALIBRATION
    NEXT to Altitude and SELECT
    NEXT to Altitude Adjust
Rotate the <-(COL)-> knob to set the adjustment.
SAVE and RETURN to EFIS mode
