    Air to air traffic

I have the 5600, afs mode S transponder and the 74109 adsb receiver. I understand I will get the ground based tis-b traffic via the mode s 1090es prompting but will I receive other air to air 1090es transmissions from the afs 74109 receiver? If not how can I receive air to air traffic?

You would need a 1090 receiver, or dual band receiver, to get 1090 transmissions. Our 74112 ADS-B UAT Receiver utilized the ground station to translate 1090 traffic into UAT traffic.

Is there a way to "combine" the afs uat receiver signal that I have with a 1090 receiver signal and both be displayed on the 5600?

We have a couple of customers working on hardware solutions for receiving 1090. I'm sure dual band receivers aren't far off.
