    Backup power current draw

I have a three screen system two 5600 and a 5500 with a PC680 hooked up to pin 6 of expansion cable for backup power. Wondering what the standby current is in the off mode since it is all the time voltage. Concerned about damaging the odyssey battery again with extended off time.

Each EFIS will draw 1mA @ 12V. The PC680 will provide a minimum of 16Ah between 12V and 10V. The EFIS draws 0.75mA @ 10V so 16Ah/0.875mA = 18290 hours. So in 761 days you will need to charge the battery.

ODYSSEY can recover from 5V OCV discharge so that probably more like 1000 days before damage.

That’s good to know, I think one reason I ruined a pc680 was not keeping it charged while partially allowing system operation on that b/u battery and allowing it to get below 10 v.
