    GPS to 406 ELT

    Can the 4500 feed NMEA 1083 to the 406 from serial #3? If not I’m considering an inexpensive gps antenna using 5 volts. Can I use the 5v source from the expansion port?

    AF-4500 cannot send NMEA out, only aviation format. An Artex ELT can accept aviation format but I don't think an ACK 406 can. Probably going to need a dedicated puck for this one. Sure go ahead and use the 5V on the expansion port, powering a GPS puck is its entire reason to exist.
