I have a friend that I was trying to help upload new firmware to his 2500. His 2500 was originally a 2200 that was upgraded to a 2500. His current firmware is 3.0.5.
I was attempting to install 3.2.2.
We successfully uploaded the calibration and flight data out of his unit and then proceeded to install the firmware.
I changed the baud rate in the software to 115.2K and pressed the button on the cable as the unit booted. Black screen and then tried to run the software and it never would start downloading. If I released the button before attempting download, the software said "target is not reset" "reset target and try again". If I held the button down all the time, "unable to connect".
I know the coms were good at 19.2K because we pulled the calib and flight data right out.
Any tricks? |

You should hold the button down on the programming cable when you power up the unit, if the engine monitor screen does not come up it should be in programming mode.
We have had some problems with some PC's that just will not program it. _________________ Rob Hickman

Yep, We did that and the screen was black but it would not program. We tried continuously holding the button and the press, power up and release method and neither worked.
We are using a Keyspan USB adapter which normally works with anything we use it on. It has had the best compatibility of anything I have ever used. Strange it would not work on this. It worked fine during the data dump. |

I updated my ACS2002 to version 3.2.2 firmware today. I was about 10 revisions behind as I installed the unit in 2004 and this was my first upgrade. I read about some of the problems with the update on this thread and sure enough I encountered some errors trying to update on a Dell laptop with Windows XP. I kept getting a Data Overrun error about 1/3 of the way through the upgrade and it would abort. Finally I decided to lower the baud rate one level to 38400 from the 115200 and it worked fine. It took about 3 times as long for the update to load, but it did so error free. Just wanted to pass this along to anyone else encountering problems upgrading. Try lowering the baud rate on the COM port. _________________ RV-6 N44PH

I am on page 52 item 1.
The last file name I see programmed is ACS2002.s19
I think I have done all the previous steps in the outline. Why isn't AF2500V322.s19 shown?

You should have downloaded the new file onto your computer, you then need to use the [...] button in the software so select the file that you download on your PC. _________________ Rob Hickman
